Turnaround times
The quoted turnaround time is from sample receipt in the laboratory, to results authorisation in the Laboratory Information Management system. The times do not include transport of specimen to the laboratory or the administrative process to print and post/email reports. Service users must allow for transport and reporting time when ordering tests.
Clinical Background:
Mumps IgG is an indicator of previous mumps virus infection or vaccination. It should be noted that the assay is not sensitive enough to confirm all cases of vaccine induced immunity.

Interpretation:
Detectable mumps IgG typically indicates prior measles infection or vaccination. However, the assay does not detect measles IgG from all previous vaccination.
