Turnaround times
The quoted turnaround time is from sample receipt in the laboratory, to results authorisation in the Laboratory Information Management system. The times do not include transport of specimen to the laboratory or the administrative process to print and post/email reports. Service users must allow for transport and reporting time when ordering tests.
Clinical background:
Jo-1 antibodies are found in 25% of adult patients with autoimmune myositis and in 68% patients with anti-synthetase syndrome (myositis, arthritis, raynauds, and interstitial lung disease).

Interpretation:
ANA may be negative; Jo-1 antibodies do not demonstrate the speckled ANA staining pattern seen with the other ENAs.
