Clinical background:
An Inhibitor Titre quantifies the activity of a specific coagulation factor inhibitor found in plasma. A standard method is used, with patients plasma being incubated with a normal plasma and the amount of coagulation factor inhibited in a set time measured. This is converted to an inhibitor activity (titre) and expressed in Bethesda Units (BU). Patients with inhibitors are divided into Low Responders (Titre 5 BU), this classification may influence the treatment choice for the patient
