Other info:
Gastric parietal cell antibodies are reported as part of the Liver Autoantibodies screen as Negative, Weakly Positive, Positive or Strongly Positive. If an Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA) is detected, the GPC will be reported as ‘Not reportable in the presence of an AMA’ due to interfering staining from the AMA in the gastric parietal cells.
‘Not reporatble due to heterophilic staining’ due to the interfering heterophilic staing in the GPC.
