Turnaround times
The quoted turnaround time is from sample receipt in the laboratory, to results authorisation in the Laboratory Information Management system. The times do not include transport of specimen to the laboratory or the administrative process to print and post/email reports. Service users must allow for transport and reporting time when ordering tests.
Clinical background:
Anti-B2Glycoprotein 1 antibodies are a subset of antibodies tested for in the investigation of Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Patients who are positive for Anticardiolipin are then usually screened for anti-B2GP1 if APS is suspected. There is a strong correlation of Thrombotic risk in patients who are Lupus Anticoagulant (LA) positive and anti-B2GP1 positive
