Clinical background:
Severe deficiency of ADAMTS13 activity leading TTP may be due to an acquired IgG Inhibitor of ADAMTS13. The inhibitor may develop secondary to a clinical condition or therapy, or may be idiopathic. The use of and ELISA ADAMTS13 IgG inhibitor assay may distinguish between congenital and acquired deficiencies. It may also be used to monitor the response to therapy for Acute TTP.
